Jessica Peace is the Associate Director for Preschool and School Age (ages 3-8). She is proud to be a Blue Hen, graduating from the University of Delaware in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She completed her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Design, with an emphasis on Educational Leadership from Western Maryland College (McDaniel’s). Jessica also has certification in Special Education. Jessica has experience working with children in various age groups as a teacher and a technical assistant or supervisor. Jessica began her career as an infant teacher in an early care center. Then, she transitioned into a public school setting, teaching Kindergarten, special education and First and Second grade language arts and reading intervention. Jessica worked part time as a technical assistant and supervisor for field placements through UD while raising her children. She also worked with faculty to develop and implement workshops for clinical educators and teacher candidates in Coteaching practices. Jessica returned to her work with teachers and young children 4 years ago, as a member of the ELC’s leadership team. She is delighted to be a part of the ELC family and loves to interact with children, families and dedicated staff each day. She enjoys watching children learn to nurture their own natural quest for learning by exploring, playing and interacting with their environment and their peers and teachers. When Jessica is not at the ELC, she enjoys being with her husband, their two daughters, Jenna and Ashleigh and their dog, Rosa. Soccer games are a big part of their life and they have active schedules. She loves to read and go to the beach.
