“We can’t thank you enough for our (virtual) tour of the ELC today. It was the most thorough tour we’ve seen, and you answered all of our questions. My husband and I have both been involved in research through our prospective careers, and we appreciate the work your program does. We are so impressed by the ELC’s mission and approach to education and children in general, focusing on all aspects of their development and fostering respect and inclusivity. I work exclusively with children with disabilities, and I admire this piece especially.”

Step 3: Notification
Upon return of the registration form, a confirmation email will be sent to you. The Admissions Team will review your child’s registration form and determine availability in the appropriate classroom.
Once a spot becomes available you will be contacted to offer enrollment at the ELC. Upon acceptance, you will receive an enrollment packet that includes the contract and other important documents to complete prior to admission. A student is formally enrolled when the Admissions coordinator receives the signed contract and non-refundable deposit.
Specialized Enrollment Alternatives
The ELC accepts families enrolled through Purchase of Care and the Military’s Child Care Aware program–based on availability listed above.
Delaware’s Purchase of Care (POC) program is a subsidy that supports early childhood and after-school education and care for families who live within 200% of the Federal Poverty Limits. The ELC encourages the enrollment of children who receive POC and any other child with potential risk factors.
For families receiving POC Funds and are enrolled at the ELC:
- Rate = State assigned co-pay
- Co-pay is due weekly in advance of services
- Registration fee is waived
DSS determines eligibility based on the need for service and income. The income limit is currently set at 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).
For more information or to apply for POC, please contact the Division of Social Services office.
Child Care Aware® of America is proud to partner with the United States Military and Department of Defense to serve and support their families through the Fee Assistance and Respite Child Care Programs.
