Early Learning Center

March 26, 2020

Dear ELC families,

I hope that you and your families are staying well and weathering the storm brought about by the COVID-19 situation. On March 24, UD President Assanis announced that faculty and staff of the University of Delaware would be working at home until May 15, 2020, or until the threat posed by COVID-19 has been eliminated. While the Early Learning Center facility will remain closed until that time, ELC staff is still providing a variety of services.

Our teachers will continue to interact with you and your children to keep them engaged through Zoom, Class Dojo, website updates and any other resources that would be helpful.  We are working with early childcare providers and state officials to provide information on best practices for emergency early care and learning, as well as policies for making this care available.

The Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments and automatic payroll deductions have been suspended at this time, including those scheduled for March 31 and April 1. Tuition for the month of March will be adjusted for dates on which the on-campus operations at the Early Learning Center were suspended. Any credits will be applied to the next tuition payment. For Purchase of Care families with monthly co-payments, those co-payments will not be adjusted for the month of March, as co-payments are based on the month of enrollment.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during what continues to be a time of uncertainty. We are aware and regret that these operational changes may prove challenging for many of you. We will continue to provide operational updates as they become available.

Please know that we are thinking of your child and family during this difficult time. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
