Our Mission

New Directions Early Head Start provides pregnant women, infants, toddlers and their families with quality care and family services that support families in providing the best for themselves and their very young children, in order to promote children’s success and families’ self-sufficiency, through community collaboration and partnerships.

The program is designed to:

  • Support children’s emotional, physical, and cognitive development
  • Help parents and guardians meet their children’s and families’ needs
  • Involve parents as their child’s first teacher

Who is eligible?

  • Pregnant women
  • Children from birth to 3 years of age
  • Children with special needs
  • Families who meet Early Head Start Income guidelines

Early Head Start Provides:

  • Home visits
  • Family Education and support services
  • Health and nutrition education
  • Referral services
  • Prenatal education
  • High quality center-based child care
  • Parent involvement activities, including Parent Committee, Policy Council, Family Gatherings, and Parent Education

Center-Based Partnerships Provide:

  • Full day, full year
  • Nutritional meals
  • Home visits
  • Quality infant & toddler program with individualized attention and parental involvement
